What Is Amazon Explore?

Amazon’s new service called Amazon Explore allows customers to book live, virtual experiences led by local experts.

The experiences may be focused on creativity, learning DIY skills, taking virtual tours of far-off places or cultural landmarks or, in some cases, shopping local boutiques from around the world.

For example, you could book a virtual wine tasting experience in Argentina, learn how to make homemade gnocchi like an Italian grandmother, take a virtual tour of ancient Rome, explore the unexpected secrets of the Eiffel Tower, or make sushi from a home kitchen in Tokyo.

The Bottom Line

Last year, there was also an Amazon Experience promo code that gave $50 off your first virtual experience. That pretty much covered the entire costs of the majority of virtual experiences I found.

Some of offers look interesting. The advantage over YouTube is that these experiences are live and private, so it feels more personal and definitely more interactive.

The virtual experiences are broken down to three major categories: Culture & Landmarks, Learning & Creativity, and Shopping.
