About Amazon Prime Day

Amazon Prime Day with stacked Amazon boxes

On July 15, 2015, to celebrate Amazon’s 15th anniversary, Amazon launched the first Prime Day. The event features an enormous amount of discounts and promotions that are exclusive to Amazon Prime subscribers.

Amazon proclaimed at the time that Prime Day sales would feature more deals than Black Friday.

The Bottom Line

You may not find absolutely everything on your wish list during Prime Day 2021, but it’s the best opportunity to stock up on gifts.

Otherwise, you’ll have to wait until Black Friday and Cyber Monday in November.

Other retailers tend to drop prices during Prime Day, so you’ll also find the best anti-Prime Day sales from Newegg, Target Walmart, Best Buy, Microsoft Store, and more.
