BlockFi $250 Sign-up Bonus

The amount of free BTC you receive depends on the total deposits made within the first calendar month of account opening:

$250 Bonus Terms & Conditions

• New BlockFi clients who sign up with a specific partner referral code and fund their account during the promotion period (current calendar month ending at 23:59:59 UTC on the last day of the month) are eligible to receive a tiered bonus paid in BTC.
• To be eligible for the promotion, this must be your first ever deposit in the BlockFi Wallet account, and you must maintain a $100+ crypto balance through the 14th of the month at 23:59:59 UTC two and a half months from the month of eligibility in order to remain eligible.

BlockFi $10/$20 Referral Bonus Program

Once you have a BlockFi account, you can take part in the BlockFi Refer-a-Friend program.

You’ll get a referral bonus of $10 BTC for your first 5 referrals that sign up with your link and deposit $100 or more to their account.

BlockFi Rewards Credit Card Bonus

BlockFi recently launched its own credit card called BlockFi Rewards Visa Signature credit card.

The card features a rewards program that comes with an unlimited 1.5% back in bitcoin on every purchase. Additionally, it also offers the following benefits:

• Intro Bonus: Earn 3.5% Bitcoin rewards on all purchases in the first 90 days of card ownership after activation, up to $100 in Bitcoin. To reach the full $100 cap would require at least $5,000 in USD card spend.
• Trading Bonus: 0.25% back in Bitcoin on all eligible trades, up to a maximum of $500 in Bitcoin each month
• Spend Bonus: Earn 2% back in Bitcoin on every dollar over $50,000 of annual spend. Rewards rate increases from 1.5% to 2% after $50,000 of spend has been achieved and resets on the card anniversary date every year.
• Refer-a-Friend Bonus: $30 in Bitcoin for every client referral, on top of the base Refer-a-Friend program
• 1.5% back in Bitcoin on all purchases
• $0 Annual Fee

This is an improvement from the initial card launch where BlockFi charged a $250 annual fee. They removed this fee entirely and added an introductory bonus.

The Bottom Line

I’m not here to give you a prediction on what crypto will do long-term, but in the interest of full disclosure I do hold a fairly significant amount of my net worth in Bitcoin and Ethereum (and flip some Dogecoin so I can be part of the Reddit and Elon Musk memes).

Earning interest on your crypto is another opportunity to make money with your cryptocurrency holdings. Each crypto has their own interest rate chart (interest is paid out every month):

When I signed up for BlockFi, I transferred $20,000 via a bank wire transfer to get the full $250 BTC bonus. Although they did revise the offer recently and now it requires a $100,000 deposit in order to get the highest bonus tier.

The money converts into Gemini dollar (GUSD), which is a 1:1 USD-backed stablecoin built by a secure and regulated cryptocurrency exchange. In layman terms, 1 Gemini dollar is equivalent to 1 U.S. dollar.

I’m planning to keep this for at least 3 months to earn the BTC bonus while making 8.6% APY in interest per the chart above.
