The Bottom Line
An additional bonus is that Chime’s current interest rate on deposit accounts is 1.00% APY, which blows away the interest rate offered for many savings and money market accounts.
If you prefer, there’s also a sign-up and referral bonus program directly from Chime.
Ok so you are saying I can transfer money from cashapp to chime and can get bonus.
So the direct deposit from UberEATS, for which I had to fill out “direct deposit” forms just like with any other job, will not work for the chime offer? 😰 It’s coming up as an “EPI payment” so I figured that since it said “payment” I might be okay, but not seeing it on the list, I don’t want to take the chance of not getting the bonus. I am only a SB user and new to the bank bonus thing, so I do not bank with any others on the list. What’s the easiest way for me to make sure I get the bonus?
I don’t think many people have used Uber Eats as a direct deposit method so reports on this may be lacking. That may or may not work.
Do you have the Cash App? That’s another easy way to double down on making sure you get the Chime bonus.
Yes I do have cash app. So I just add cash to that, then push it into the chime account via cash app?
Hey Ninja – I did a push transfer from my chase checking account to my new chime account. It’s listed on my chime account as a ext transfer, will that count as a direct deposit?
It worked for me
Unfortunately push transfers are not direct deposits. Direct deposits come from your employer or unemployment benefits and there is a form you need to fill out. Contact your payroll or state benefits
Although banks say they require a direct deposit, push transfers do work a lot of the time. See this post on what works as a direct deposit for more details on the topic.
Good deal, I set up through Swagbucks and did a push transfer from my chase checking account. Will that be considered a direct deposit? Can anyone confirm this works with Chime? Thanks in advance
