What I Mean By Fetch Rewards Hacks

When I say “hack”, I don’t mean anything that has to do with gaming the system into giving you more points. If you try to game Fetch in this manner, it’s a surefire way to get your account suspended. I give examples on what you shouldn’t do further down this post in case it isn’t clear.

What I do mean by Fetch hacks are tips and tricks to get points faster without requiring too much extra effort. It will make the app which I gave 8.8 out of 10 stars in my Fetch review even better.

11 Hacks To Get More Points on Fetch

1. Grab The Sign-up Bonus

My #1 rule when you download a new app is to never sign up without using a referral code or promo code. You’re missing out on of the best ways to boost your rewards right out of the gate.

I partnered with Fetch to give new users 2,000 points as a welcome bonus when they add the referral code 9EFD5C during account registration.

2. Activate Fetch eReceipts

Did you know that Fetch isn’t limited to in-store purchases? You can earn points for your online shopping receipts too!

The electronic receipt or “eReceipt” feature is a newer Fetch hack and very straightforward to activate. There are over 328 stores that are eligible for eReceipts, including the following popular brands:

  • Amazon (except for digital purchases like eBooks or movies)
  • Best Buy
  • BJ’s Wholesale Club
  • Chewy
  • Costco Wholesale
  • CVS
  • DoorDash
  • Giant Eagle
  • Google Express
  • H-E-B
  • Hannaford
  • Home Depot
  • Instacart
  • Jewel-Osco
  • Kohl’s
  • Meijer
  • Petco
  • Safeway
  • Sephora
  • Target
  • Uber Eats
  • Walgreens
  • Walmart (except for Walmart Pay purchases)

Simply connect your Amazon account and email address that you use to make these purchases. You’ll earn points once your order status changes from “ordered” to either “shipped” or “delivered”.

How To Enable eReceipts:

  1. Launch the Fetch app.
  2. Tap the ‘Me‘ icon on the menu located at the bottom section of the app.
  3. Select ‘eReceipts – Get points for your digital receipts‘ on the new screen.
  4. Connect your Amazon and/or email account.

The great thing about this Fetch trick is that once you connect your email, you never have to do anything again. Fetch will automatically track new online stores they partner with and give you rewards on all your eligible purchases.

3. Take Advantage of Special Offers

One of the best hacks to get a lot of points fast on Fetch is to take advantage of Special Offers.

All special offers can be found on the ‘Discover‘ tab in the app. I regularly see offers that reward you 5,000 to 20,000 points. Some even give 100% of your spend back in points!

Think of Special Offers as “coupons” where brands will partner with Fetch to encourage you to purchase a specific product from them.

The great thing about this is there’s no coupon clipping or activating an offer needed. Once you see an offer you like, just buy the item and scan your receipt to get the bonus points.

Check out some of the special offers in my account, including 100% rewards back on Viennetta Cake:

4. Submit Receipts From All Stores (Not Just Grocery Stores)

When Fetch first came out, it awarded points for grocery receipts only. While that’s still their main focus, some users may not know that rewards are now given on all receipts.

You can earn points by uploading your receipts from places like:

  • Grocery stores
  • Supermarkets
  • Restaurants
  • Hardware stores
  • Pet stores
  • Gas stations
  • Convenience stores

So don’t throw those other receipts away. You’ll earn points as long as the receipt has the store name, purchase amount, and date.

5. Stack With Other Receipt Scanning Apps

While Fetch is the most popular receipt scanning rewards app, it’s not the only one in town. There are other apps that you can upload your receipts to in order to double-dip or triple-dip on points.

Other legit receipt scanning apps include:

  • Ibotta (cash back at grocery stores and supermarkets) = $5 cash bonus with code MONEYNINJA
  • Shopkick (rewards for walking into stores, scanning barcodes, and uploading receipts) = $5 gift card welcome offer with code NINJAFIVE
  • Upside (cash back on gas purchases) = 30¢/gal bonus with promo code NINJA30
  • Receipt Hog (cash rewards for all receipts) = 15 free spins with code MONEYNINJA
  • Swagbucks (general cash back app) = $10 welcome bonus

6. Scan Receipts Within 14 Days

Another tip is to scan your receipts within 14 days of purchase. That’s the limit according to Fetch’s terms and conditions. They won’t be able to award you points for receipts outside of that 14-day window.

I’m guilty of this at times. I stuff the receipt in my pocket, forget about it, and miss getting points because I didn’t scan the receipt in time.

The best way to fix this is to scan your receipts before you even leave the store. I’m batting 100% with this method. Once the cashier hands me the receipt, I immediately open my phone to take a picture of it.

7. Upload Up To 35 Receipts Every 7 Days

You can submit a total of 35 receipts within a 7-day period. This receipt limit is based on the date you snap the receipt, not the checkout date. In other words, this means that over a rolling 7-day period, you can snap up to 35 receipts.

That may sound like a lot of receipts, but you’d be surprised how many receipts you get every day. Here are all the places I got receipts from the day I wrote this post:

  • receipt for getting morning coffee
  • receipt for lunch during break
  • eReceipt from an Amazon order
  • receipt from refilling a prescription at a pharmacy
  • receipt for buying groceries at the supermarket
  • eReceipt from Uber Eats order

My point is that it’s not hard to hit the maximum receipt limit in a week. If you’re close to reaching the 35 receipt limit during a seven day period, hold off from scanning additional receipts until you’re below the threshold again.

8. Refer Friends

If you love using Fetch, why not tell all your friends and family about it? Not only will you be introducing them to an awesome app, you’ll also get a bonus for each person you refer.

The standard bonus for referring someone is 100 points, but Fetch often has limited-time promotions that give you higher referral bonuses.

I’ve seen limited-time offers that give you anywhere from 500 points to 1,000 points for each person you successfully refer (defined as someone who joins Fetch using your personalized referral code or link and scans their first receipt) to Fetch.

9. Refill Prescriptions with GoodRx

Refill your prescriptions with GoodRx and get 10,000 points with your first claim and 1,500 points for every future refill.

GoodRx is the exclusive prescription savings provider of Fetch. It’s a great Fetch hack that will boost your points significantly. Your first claim rewards of 10,000 points is enough for a $10 gift card redemption!

To earn points using GoodRx, first find your GoodRx member ID by navigating to the ‘Me‘ tab and selecting GoodRx under the ‘Earn More‘ section.

At the pharmacy, show your GoodRx card and information from your Fetch app to the pharmacist to understand your savings. If you want to earn Fetch points for using GoodRx, be sure to let your pharmacist know to enter the exact GoodRx information that you see in the app.

10. Join Clubs To Earn More

You can earn additional points for joining clubs like PepsiCo Tasty Rewards and Huggies Rewards+.

When you join, you get offered exclusive Special Offers, access to extra points, and more bonuses, directly inside the Fetch app.

Learn more about the clubs and their promotions here.

11. Play The Daily Reward Game

Each day that you scan at least one receipt, you can play the Daily Reward game. Spin the Daily Reward wheel to win between 5 to 10,000 points! You’re guaranteed at least 5 points, but if you’re lucky, you can get a lot more.

The Daily Reward game is in addition to the points you earn from scanning receipts and taking part in Special Offers.

Avoid These “Hacks” (Don’t Get Suspended)

I’m all about getting the best deals and maximizing your finances – it’s what this site is all about after all! But avoid these hacks listed below.

Not only does it go against the spirit of program, you’d also violate the terms and conditions that you accepted when you opened a Fetch account. You may think these are good hacks, but all of them will end up getting your Fetch account locked up.

Scanning Random Receipts

You may be tempted to rack up points quickly by finding random receipts and scanning them all on Fetch , but doing this is one of the fastest ways to get your account banned.

A Reddit user got locked out of his account after he grabbed a bunch of receipts from a grocery trash barrel and uploaded them on the Fetch app.

It’s pretty obvious he didn’t shop at the same store 20 times, on the same day, and with 10 different credit cards.

Using A Self Referral

This bad hack will get you suspended in no time. I’ve seen so many Reddit and YouTube comments about how someone got banned when they created a second account using their referral code from their first account.

Don’t… just don’t. You’re welcomed to refer anyone you’d like (I respect the hustle), but don’t create a second account to game the system for referral bonuses.

Altering Receipts

Another hack that will result in getting the ban hammer thrown at you is altering receipts. Some people are tempted to do this in order to earn bonuses from special offers that they didn’t actually buy.

Fetch has a pretty advanced algorithm that detect receipts which has been photoshopped or doctored via other means. Losing the ability to use Fetch permanently is not worth the risk of trying to get extra points this way.

The Bottom Line

Fetch is one of my favorite cashback apps giving you points just for scanning your receipts.

Download the app today through the Android or Apple app store and use the legit hacks I wrote in this post to supercharge your earnings. This will allow you to cash them in for gift cards fast. You can also check out Fetch blog for other ways to earn more points.

Did I miss any good tips or tricks? Maybe you know of a good one from friends or found a few on forums like Reddit. Let me know what belongs on this list! I use the app almost every day so I’m all ears for other ways to get more out of Fetch!
