Amazon No-Rush Shipping

They say good things come to those who wait and that’s exactly what Amazon is doing with their No-Rush Shipping program.

The program is for Amazon Prime members who order items that they don’t need to receive right away. By allowing Amazon to ship items to your house a little bit slower (within six business days instead of the standard of two-day period) you’ll earn rewards in the form of Amazon credits.

How To Use No-Rush Shipping Option?

Every time you place an order on Amazon, you’ll be presented with a few shipping options at checkout.

Select the radio button with the ‘FREE No-Rush Shipping‘ description. By choosing this shipping method, Amazon will give you a No-Rush reward for doing so:

This screenshot on one of my orders show that I’ll get a $1 reward for select digital purchases. When I click on ‘Details’, I can learn more about what a digital purchase is and what products and services it’s valid for:

“Choose FREE No-Rush Shipping and we’ll automatically apply a $1 digital reward (applicable to select eBooks, digital music, videos, and apps) to your account once your order ships. You can use this reward by logging on to, or browsing your smart phone, tablet, e-reader, TV or streaming device.

Find an eBook, Prime Video, Digital Music, or app from Amazon Appstore that you want to purchase and we’ll automatically apply the reward at checkout. Offer redemption requires customers to be in the U.S.”

These rewards vary, but range from the $1 digital reward above to a $20 discount on Amazon Home Services. As you earn no-rush credits, you can check your current balance to see how much you have.

I’ve seen rewards that can be used for buying eBooks, Amazon Pantry, digital video games, movies, groceries, and apps at the Amazon Appstore. Different items you purchase qualify for different rewards, but there doesn’t appear to be a consistent pattern on what you’ll get.

Rewards are automatically added to your Amazon account once your order ships and will be automatically applied to future qualifying orders.

When do my rewards expire?

The original email that includes information on how to redeem your rewards will also include information on when your rewards expire. You can also view the expiration dates in your No-Rush Rewards Summary dashboard. You may also get an email notification prior to your reward’s expiration date depending on the type of offer associated with the reward.

The Bottom Line

Amazon’s No-Rush Shipping program is a pretty sweet deal if you’re not in a rush to get your Amazon order. By having a little patience, you can earn rewards on future purchases or receive discounts immediately, just for agreeing to get your things in six days instead of two days.

So far this season, I’ve snagged $15 in digital rewards which I redeemed to rent free movies to watch on Prime Video and $20 in beauty discounts to get an eye mask for Mrs. Money Ninja.

I am never offered No-Rush Rewards anymore. Is anyone else? Maybe I’ve enjoyed too many of them!
