What is OnJuno?

OnJuno is an up-and-coming fintech company that offers FDIC-insured banking services. The company launched in 2017 with headquarters in Singapore and offices in the US and India.

Their mission is to provide a top-notch platform with higher interest rates (currently 1.20% APY) than traditional banks. Customers also get 5% cashback at popular brands and have recently expanded to allow users to trade cryptocurrency.

As an incentive to try OnJuno out, they’re offering pretty great sign-up bonus offers too.

The Bottom Line

Great offer with a small deposit requirement. I’m adding this to the list of the best bank sign-up offers.

It’s an especially good deal because the OnJuno checking account offers an interest rate of 1.20% APY on balances up to $30,000. You can also earn 5% cashback on up to $3,000 in purchases across five brands, including many popular stores like:

  • Amazon
  • Uber
  • Netflix
  • Airbnb
  • Disney+
  • Starbucks
  • Lyft
  • Dunkin Donuts
  • Uber

The free basic membership caps the 5% cashback up to $500 in spend per year while electing the Metal membership ($9.99 per month) gives 5% cashback up to $3,000. All new users get free Metal membership for six months once they set up direct deposit of $250 or more:

When I signed up, I noticed the ability to convert your paycheck into crypto. So while your employer may not be on board to pay you in cryptocurrency just yet, you can use platforms like OnJuno to get to exchange part or all of your pay to Bitcoin.

I’m not saying you should do this, but there have been a number of high profile people that have. NFL star receiver Odell Beckham took his entire salary in Bitcoin and so did New York City’s mayor.

  1. tried to link onjuno account to Amex Biz so I can make push transfer. Get an error message from Amex Biz, can not link Onjuno (Evolve Bank)

    • Hi Mike. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of data points for OnJuno since the company is relatively new and not that popular yet. It doesn’t hurt to try. I looked for the direct deposit deadline but didn’t find that you had to do it in X amount of days.

    • Amex Biz checking and Wise works.

For Wise, you need a USD account only. You send from your USD account and select the “Same Currency” tab on the next page. The fee is 51¢, I cannot use Amex Biz because they won’t open an account for me. If you don’t add the word “Payroll” to the reference field on the page before you submit your payment, it will not process as a DD on OnJuno’s end.

  2. Get $100 once you direct deposit $250

If it’s all the same to you which referral to use please consider using mine. I have many friends and relatives in war-ravaged Ukraine and try to help them financially directly. They need every bit of our help right now. Thanks!

    Few useful OnJuno tidbits:
    – Use ACH push/pull from outside as limits are much higher (the limit is $70k right now, it used to be lower)
    – Verify the limits as they change: https://help.onjuno.com/en/articles/4543197-transfer-and-spend-limits
