Sam’s Club Free Membership Offers
Sam’s Club has a two annual membership options, Club Membership and Plus Membership:
- Club Membership: This is the standard membership level and costs $50 per year (the least expensive option).
- Plus Membership: This is the top-tier membership level and costs $110 per year.
The Plus Membership costs $60 more than Club Membership, but it gets you an additional 2% back on your purchases (up to $500 a year), free shipping when shopping online or in the app, free curbside pickup, pharmacy savings, and optical savings,
While some may think it’s perplexing to pay any fee to shop at a warehouse club, there are legitimate reasons why 47 million people pay for a Sam’s Club membership:
- Items are 30% to 40% cheaper than most grocery stores and 20% lower than Walmart (Sam’s Club parent company)

This free trial offer is limited to new members only and you can only get one of these trial memberships per household.
The trial membership is set up to auto-renew and will convert you to a Club member at the end of the three month period, so be sure to cancel before the 90 days is up. You can cancel at anytime during the free trial by calling 1-888-746-7726.

Sam’s Club 1-Day Shopping Pass
Sam’s Club used to offer a 1-Day Shopping Pass, which allowed non-member guests to shop at Sam’s Club for 24 hours without a membership. Though it came with a few restrictions:
- Shoppers using a 1-Day Shopping Pass will be charged a 10% fee on all purchases.
- A Guest Membership is active for 24 hours starting at the time of purchase.
- Curbside Pickup and Scan & Go are exclusive to members and not available for guests.
These were also known as Sam’s Club Guest Membership or Invitation to Shop.
Sadly, 1-Day Shopping Passes are long gone and haven’t been offered in ages. If the guest memberships do come back, I’ll update this section with the relevant details.

The Bottom Line
I used to tag along with my parents when they shopped at BJ’s – it was close to our home while the closest Sam’s Club was half an hour away. I remember being so fascinated by warehouse stores because my parents would end up with mountains of paper towels and hordes of Tide laundry detergent 🙂
Warehouse stores are a great way to save money, but just be sure you’re not losing money by “saving” on bulk items that may expire before you get a chance to use them.

The “free annual membership deal (was a month old just takes you to the club page. I have been looking for such a deal for about a year and a half now; when my membership expired I ended up getting one for $20, but was disappointed. Haven’t seen eGift card offers in that time.
Maybe your site will flag when they have it again. My membership just expired. (I alternate between 2 email addresses).

There is no Dosh offer for Sam’s Club at this time. I just now downloaded the Dosh app and searched for Sam’s Club offers, and there were None.
I also added a credit card in the Dosh app, and still, no Sam’s Club offers.

Groupon has memberships for new members for $20 and $60. That’s 60% off the club membership. The Dosh app deal you mentioned offers the best discount. I checked the Sam’s Club $45 off offer on 12/5 and it grayed out on their website which I assume the offer is “temporarily” unavailable.

Groupon often has $20 memberships. Much of the time they have two regular memberships and one plus membership. The two always have on that you would fall for their trick if you get it, and the other being the sensible choice. One has a $5 credit when you spend… I think $5 in club at the register OR scan N go.
Sometimes the one with the $5 is $5 more… now why would you pay $5 more to jump through hoops and be lucky if you get that extra $5 back (OK, maybe if you have a cashback offer but I wouldn’t do that.) Other times there is a “sale” on the one with the $5 and it’s the same price. In that case the obvious choice is pay the same and get the $5 credit.
I did that a few weeks ago; called Sam’s and asked them to confirm I had it because I recall when I had deals like this it did NOT show up. First they said there was no such deal, then they said yes it was there. I made sure to save the chat because I didn’t trust them.
Scanned some items; there was an unexplained $5 credit which was obviously this (AFTER I had the items).
So I’m disappointed I couldn’t get it for free after the credit/gift card but I effectively got it for $15.
(Mostly I get Ruby Tuesday’s gift cards at 25% off face. You can get them in the club with 3x$25; the club is about 1/2 hour from me and I prefer the denomination and get 5x$15, both face value $75 and costs $56.25. I get 4 or 6 at a time; free shipping (comes FedEx in a large box with air packs; I laugh at how carefully they pack those apparently fragile gift cards.) 1-3x a year I go to the club. And I don’t worry about getting a card; I use the app and bring up the card; hold up my phone at the door.
