What are the details?

Amazon is offering a discount code up to 20% when you create a wedding registry. You must have created the registry at least 30 days before your wedding. The discount you’ll receive is as follows:

Amazon Prime Members get a 20% discount:

  • Up to $1,000 maximum spend for couples that have received $500 – $999.99 in purchases from their Amazon Wedding Registry ($200 maximum discount)
  • Up to $1,500 maximum spend for couples that have received $1,000 or more in purchases from their Amazon Wedding Registry ($300 maximum discount)

Amazon Non-Prime Members get a 10% discount:

  • Up to $1,000 maximum spend for couples that have received $500 or more in purchases from their Amazon Wedding Registry ($100 maximum discount)

Here’s a screenshot of one of my orders that shows the 20% wedding registry discount:

If you’re wondering why the rest of the payment was all in gift cards, it’s a savings trick I wrote about previously to get another 5% off.

When will I get the discount code?

The discount code will be sent to your email after your event date (your wedding day) and you’ll have 90 days to use it.

What other details do I need to know?

Here are the big ones, the rest can be found in the details section of Amazon’s Wedding Registry:

  • You can only do this once every 2 years
  • The items you buy must be sold by Amazon
  • The discount code only applies to a single order

What if we don’t receive enough gifts to qualify for the discount?

Get better friends.

Just joking! If you’re short on the amount, there’s a way around it. You can always go to your own registry and buy things off of there – it will count towards the total amount of gifts you receive. But you didn’t hear this from us ::cough cough::

The Bottom Line:

Getting 20% off of Amazon is excellent since Amazon already sells things at competitive prices. There’s also a 15% discount available for those who are having a baby. Stay tuned for additional ways to save on Amazon!

Can I add gift cards to the registry and have that count towards the purchases to get the 20% off coupon?
