The Bottom Line
My overall opinion = this is a VERY generous deal.
For $199, it’s a steal to stay at a nice hotel for 4 nights and 3 days for your entire family (2 adults, 2 children).
The catch is the timeshare presentation. The sales people who do this are extremely good at their jobs. I’ve heard of many people who go there with the intention of saying no and they end up signing for a timeshare.
So, if you’re someone who struggles to stay firm/say no, I don’t recommend attending a presentation.
For others who can say no and won’t feel bad, take advantage of this hot deal.
I would like you or someone else to provide their experience of booking and using the discounted travel.
I have heard mostly negative stories about additional fees, poor room conditions and staff that does not do much to assist.
This article is not very objective and I am hoping some folks can share their experience with Wyndham.
You fail to tell how any of these deals for vacations and attendance at marketing programs can be easily cancelled. Why is that?
Because I’ve done a few and it hasn’t happened to me. If this happened to you or others and I receive feedback on this, I have no problems providing an update.
I’m a writer, journalist and long time consultant, experienced with some of these scams. This time someone in my family was fast talked into a deal. Problem it cannot be canceled except within 72 hours of commitment by phone. Legalese and paperwork in e-mail is worse than Russian crypto propaganda and easily lost in hundreds of emails received daily. All contacts with the company unsuccessful except for work at home clerk type ladies. I am now ready to proceed with the FTC as cryptolegalese implies a $299 charge could balloon to about $600. Now what do you say and what do you do?
It’s not so much a scam, but a bad deal. Which is why I specifically wrote:
“The catch is the timeshare presentation. The sales people who do this are extremely good at their jobs. I’ve heard of many people who go there with the intention of saying no and they end up signing for a timeshare.

Seems like as a “I’m a writer, journalist and long time consultant, experienced with some of these scams” you didn’t do a good job talking to your family as they got duped into one of these sucker deals. I’ve done dozens of these presentations and all you have to do is say no. Easy discounted vacation, just don’t let the reps pressure you. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.
I agree, My wife and I attended an Orlando Marriott deal in 2020. $189 for a suite in a gorgeous resort. we sat in our 90 min presentation, said no, and got our $100 visa gift card for attending. 4 nights 5 days.
I just finished booking a IGH 3 nights 4 days for my wife and our children ages 17 and 15. a 3 bed suite $249.99 and that’s including tax. we have to sit in a 2 hour presentation. we also receive a $150 visa gift card for attending the presentation. its easy to say no.
So you said no and left and all was ok?
I want to take my husband on a trip and just signed up for this, but I refuse to sign up for any timeshare business. I’ll happily tell others about it so they can make up their own mind, but for my family I know it’s a big no.
So hearing this is comforting, as after reading I’m not a little worried.
They don’t charge you anything at the timeshare presentation?
Do they split up a couple?
I want to know about cancellation, because as I’m newly divorced, I no longer qualify for the presentation, because I don’t make 60k.
