Ever feel like you should be getting something back for all the money you spend online? With ShopBack, you can. Shopback is a cash back shopping portal that’s been available worldwide for a number of years, but it has recently launched in the United States.
I’ll go over what ShopBack is, how does it compare to other popular shopping portals like Rakuten, RebatesMe, and Mr. Rebates, AND show you how you can get a $15 bonus for signing up as a new user.
This post may contain affiliate links, meaning I get a commission at no cost to you if you decide to make a purchase through my links. Visit this page for more information. The content on this page is accurate as of the posting date; however, some of the offers mentioned may have expired.

ShopBack: Getting Paid to Shop
Long-time readers of The Money Ninja know that I love saving money doing things I’m already planning to do. When it comes to shopping online, I’ve been using cash back shopping portals for decades and have earned thousands of dollars for doing so.
We now have a new player in the cash back shopping space called ShopBack. This platform has been a massive success in Asia and is now available in the United States to help American shoppers earn real cash back on their everyday purchases.
So, how does it work?
ShopBack partners with thousands of popular U.S. retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, Expedia, Ulta, and DoorDash. When you’re ready to shop, you simply start your trip on the ShopBack app or website, and they redirect you to the store’s site.
When you complete your purchase, the store pays ShopBack a commission for sending you their way. ShopBack then shares a portion of that commission with you as “cashback.”
It’s real money that accumulates in your ShopBack account, and once you have at least $5 saved up, you can cash it out directly to your PayPal account. It’s a win-win where you get paid to shop at the stores you already love.
ShopBack offers some unique features specifically for the U.S. market, including exclusive cashback deals with retailers like Amazon. You notice that all other shopping portals do not earn cash back on Amazon anymore (except for very specific categories).
There’s also a browser extension for Chrome or Firefox, which will automatically activate cash back at eligible stores you’re shopping at. However, I don’t recommend installing this because it locks you to Shopback’s portal and other cash back apps may offer a higher rate. It’s better to do a quick look on all the portals you have an account with to see which offers the best rate at that store.
They also have a gamified feature called “Quests” that rewards you with bonus cashback for completing specific shopping challenges.
ShopBack Referral Program: $30 For Each Referred Friend
Now that you’re a ShopBack user, introduce your friends to ShopBack and earn $30 for each person you refer. You can earn an unlimited amount of referral bonuses.
For full details of ShopBack’s referral program, please visit their dedicated page on the referral program as the terms are subject to change.
The Bottom Line
I’m adding ShopBack to the list of cash back shopping portals I use. Every time I shop, I will compare the cash back rate this platform offers against my other go-to ones (Rakuten, RebatesMe, TopCashback, and BeFrugal) and see which offers the best rate.
