  • If either checking or savings account is closed by the Customer or TD Bank within 6 months after account opening, TD Bank does reserve the right to deduct the bonus amount from that account at closing.

The Bottom Line

This is one of the best combo savings and checking bonuses with really simple requirements. I recommend opening the Beyond Checking account to get the higher $300 bonus offer and pair it with the Simple Savings $200 bonus.

The $500 bonus matches the highest offer TD Bank has had in the past so I’ll include both of these offers in my list of the best bank account bonuses.

If you’re not from the East Coast, you’ve probably never heard of TD Bank even though it’s the 11th largest bank in the U.S. I live in Boston and the bank is everywhere – TD Bank sponsors the stadium the Boston Celtics play in so it’s hard to miss.

My experience as a TD customer has been phenomenal. On the rare occasion I had an issue with my account, it’s been resolved quickly by visiting many of the local branches or a call to their customer service center.

Everyone should carefully check their mail, since I got an offer code for $400 to open a Beyond Checking Acct + the same $200 to open a savings acct. So it sounds like a targeted promo with a total of $600, making an already nice bonus even nicer.

I’m hoping my wife will get a mailed code under her name too, so I’m actually going to hold off a bit on the standard bonus offer ($500) for another few weeks. If anyone else is seeing thesein the mail, I’m curious how widespread or narrow these targeted promos are.

Also, while I was pretty sure neither my wife nor I had received a prior bonus from TD bank, it’s worth calling their customer service dept to ascertain this before you tie up $12,500 for 90 days.

Update: The website on the mailer is td.com/earn600 and looks like anyone can sign up using that link, no activation code needed! I’m not sure why they’ve got two different, yet both publicly accessible offers, but can’t argue with the higher bonus.

TD bank insists that they did not offer the $200 savings account bonus on August 2, 2021 so they will not credit my account with the bonus. Does anyone have any documentation that can prove that they indeed did offer the $200 bonus on that date.

Hello! Question. How updated is the TDbank guideline? Their website says person to person bank transfer won’t work as direct deposit for their tdbank beyond checking 300$ bonus

Are you aware that if recently the push transfer for example from PNC counts as td Bank direct deposit ???

Please respond as soon as possible

If I transfer out all of the money in the account right when I get the bonus before I close it, and only then close the account afterwards when it has no money, is there any way for TD to deduct the bonus?

You said that this is a bonus you can do again. However, in the fine print, it says “Customers who received a bonus on a prior checking and/or savings account do not qualify.” So are they are not letting you get the bonus again if you’ve had it in the past?
