TD Bank is offering a $500 bonus for opening up a checking and savings account. You can earn $300 for opening a checking account, $200 for opening a savings account, or $500 for doing both. This is one of the best bank sign up bonuses that can be done over and over again. We recommend you do this whenever you become eligible.
Ninja Update 1/21/21: Offer extended through March 31, 2021!
TD Bank $500 Checking + Savings Bonus Overview
TD Bank is offering a new promotion where you can earn up to $500 in bank account bonuses.
There are two separate bonuses. You’ll get one bonus for opening a checking account and another bonus for opening a savings account.
The bonus amount depends on what type of account you open. Here are the options and what you can earn with each:
Checking Accounts
TD Beyond Checking ($300 Bonus)
- Earn $300 when you have $2,500 in direct deposits within 60 days
TD Convenience Checking ($150 Bonus)
- Earn $150 when you have $500 in direct deposits within 60 days
Savings Accounts
TD Beyond Savings ($200 Bonus)
- Earn $200 when you deposit $20,000 or more in new funds within 20 days and maintain a balance of at least $20,000 for 90 days
TD Simple Savings ($200 Bonus)
- Earn $200 when you deposit $20,000 or more in new funds within 20 days and maintain a balance of at least $20,000 for 90 days
I recommend the TD Beyond Checking account and the TD Beyond Savings account as the easiest way to get the maximum $500 in bonuses.

The Bottom Line
This specific promotion is awesome and better than in the past, for two reasons:
- TD Bank account opening bonuses are now available to the public whereas they were targeted offers in the past
- TD Bank account opening bonuses can now be done again after 12 months whereas before they were limited to new customers only
The only limitation in my opinion is that you need to live in one of the listed states, otherwise, I consider this offer as one of the best bank account bonuses available.
You said that this is a bonus you can do over and over. However, in the fine print, it says “Customers who received a bonus on a prior checking and/or savings account do not qualify.” So are they are not letting you get the bonus again if you’ve had it in the past?
Hi Jennifer. You can keep on taking advantage of the bonus after closing the account and becoming a “new customer” again. See this excerpt from what I posted under who is eligible:
“Everyone is eligible for one checking bonus and one savings account opening related bonus as long as you don’t have or haven’t had an existing or prior account in the past 12 months.”
I am a TD Bank customer.
If I refer a friend for Saving and Checking Bonus Accounts, will I get a referral fee? Will my friend get a money for that too?
What referral offer are you talking about?
How does it work with getting the bonus? Is there a wait period after you deposit the money?
In TD Bank’s Terms & Conditions: “Once the offer criterion is met, the bonus will be credited to the new personal checking and/or personal savings account no later than 140 days from account opening.”

Hi Lynn,
You’ll get the bonus. I know it says that on their site, but as long as you use that promotional link, you’ll be fine. Everyone on this site has done this multiple times already (myself included).
