Overview of Chase Secure Banking Account

Chase Secure Banking is a second-chance checking account created for people with bad financial history.

It provides you with an opportunity to establish a traditional banking relationship with one of the most recognizable names in banking while removing a couple of features that may tempt people to overspend.

Chase Secure Banking customers don’t have access to:

  • Overdraft Protection – say goodbye to overdraft fees with a Chase debit card that helps you stay within your balance
  • Paper Checks – you can use your Chase debit card to make payments instead

This particular Chase checking account is ideal for consumers who had problems maintaining a checking account in the past and young people just starting out on their financial journey.

The Bottom Line

For those who made a few mistakes financially, the Chase Secure Banking account is a good way to establish a relationship with a premier bank. The $100 bonus is also a nice little cherry on top.

I recommend the Chase Total Checking® account instead for people with a better track record. That account comes with more features and you can waive the monthly fee in a number of ways. It also comes with a higher $200 bonus offer (Chase had a $600 offer at one point, but that offer has expired).

I’ll include this in the list of bank account opening bonuses.
